Alternator is indeed new and from Bosch. I installed it today and it seems to work as it should although it made a horrible rattle on the first start-up after installation. Belts were lined up and all tools removed so I have no idea what the sound was. Shipping was SuperSaver so it took the FULL time to get here. Item shipped from Arizona so don't expect a quick ship if you're on the east coast.
PACKAGING was terrible! Alternator was rolling around in it's own box while sliding around in the Amazon box. The rear plastic shell was broken but I've waited 9 days and this truck has to get back on the road. There was no support for the part and no support for the parts box inside the Amazon box. Seems to be a fair deal but it's a risky ship to say the least.
Comes with a mail-in for 24 months roadside assistance due to a Bosch part failure. It has to be sent within 7 days of purchase and it's been 9 just to get it. I'll try anyway and see how it goes!
Part seems to be a 5 star but FedEx may break off 2 or 3 before you get it!
This was the right part for the best price anywere. About 1/2 of the cast of part local and I got it in 2 days great service
